Is the ball head able to pan without loosening the entire ball head?

Asked by: ajdd
Hello- No there is 1 knob that controls everything. If you need a separate knob to control the head rotation we would recommend the next one up, the VEO 235AB.

Seriously frustrated! I can not flip up the tripod mount. Looks so easy in all the videos. Do I need to unscrew something or push a button? Thank you.

Asked by: Karen322
Hello- In the tripods compact mode, the center column has to be all the way down in order for the center column to be swung up. If you can see the spring button while the tripod is folded it will prevent the center column from being flipped up.

What is the maximum height with and without the center column extended, and what is the minimum height?

Asked by: ChrisB
The minimum height i'd say is 0, because the center column with the ball head attached is longer than the collapsed leg segments. The center column can flip around beneath the tripod legs, the legs can extend and lock at an angle greater than 45 degrees.  Its 43-1/8" tall with the ball-joint head. and 39-1/2" without the ball joint head. At maximum it is about 55" if weighted and legs in. Otherwise the maximum is 52-3/4" with legs extended. You do not need a 1/4"-20 thread mount, just remove the ball joint by unscrewing (do not remove) the two hex screws on the top of the center column, tighten the ball joint and unscrew the whole assembly from the center column.
